The Child Protection Adviser is responsible for the strategic planning and technical leadership of the Child Protection Program and projects targeting civil society organizations in Lebanon. This includes programmatic planning and monitoring according to the SCI Lebanon Office strategic Plan.
The Child Protection Adviser has the following areas of responsibility:
Develop the program’s annual work plan with realistic and achievable long-term goals and short-term objectives as well as the Annual Report according to the SCI guidelines, as well as budget development.
Contribute to the following up and reporting on objectives that are achieved, and on deviations from the Work Plan and budget.
Conceptualize and write proposals, plan and implement fundraising activities with potential donors.
Develop projects’ plan and monitor implementation.
Follow up and monitor partners based on contractual agreements made with SCI through conducting field visits and attending project activities.
Organize and contribute to program activities/events directly implemented by SCI (invitees, resource persons, logistics, etc…)
Follow up on reporting requirements by partners.
Contribute to advocacy and communication work.
Contribute to the institutional memory and the experience-sharing by reporting and feedback, innovating initiatives and by networking with other colleagues/regions.
Ensure that documents such as project memos, descriptions and agreements are developed and kept according to approved formats and SCI standard filing systems.
Support and stimulate teamwork within SCI Lebanon offices.
Plan the integration between the program areas to ensure maximum impact of the activities in SCI programs.
Carry out additional tasks upon decision by the PDQ manager within the limits of the character of the post.
Develop and Implement capacity building plans for both staff and partner on issues around CHILD PROTECTION.
Represent SCI in program meetings and ensure networking with INGOs, donors, UN bodies, ministries and other parties.
