Education Officer (4 Vacancies)

In the framework of its response to the current situation which is affecting the Syrian population forcing them to flee their Country, NRC is setting up an Education programme to respond to the needs of Syrian children displaced in Lebanon. Major Areas of Responsibility 1.Participate in design and implementation of education assessments (i.e. teachers training needs, students’ participation, school management, parents/community involvement in education etc…) 2.Participate in design of training programs based on needs assessments 3.Develop training modules, both in English and Arabic 4.Participate in organization, facilitation and implementation of training modules/ training programs for education staff - teachers, administrative staff, supervisors, counselors etc… 5.Participate in development of communication tools (ex.: newsletters) 6.Constantly liaise with school authorities, students, parents and communities representatives 7.Organize and facilitate workshops/ sensitization sessions on education and child protection (and other topics as needed) with students, parents, community members & leaders 8.Provide facilitation, organizational and logistical support to NRC staff engaged in trainings related to education/protection/development issues. 9.Ensure that the projects implemented are realized in a timely manner and as per the objectives and planned activities. 10.Ensure an integrative programming approach with other NRC Lebanon Programs. 11.Participate in preparation and facilitation of training workshops for NRC staff on protection & development issues 12.Provide timely reports to the supervisors. 13.Other duties as assigned and agreed upon. Experience Required oQualified and experienced teacher/ master trainer/counselor/social worker. oKnowledge & relevant experience in child protection issues. oExperience in designing & facilitating training programs oExperience in participatory programs. oExperience in community sensitization/ mobilization. oAbility to work under pressure oStrong documentation, research and report writing skills. oBackground in curriculum and syllabus design. oWillingness to travel to multiple field sites. Additional Qualities a Successful Candidate Should Possess oPrevious work experience in similar context oTeam spirit oFlexibility oStrong communication and organizational skills. oMaturity and capacity to work in complex political and social contexts oWillingness to commit to the NRC Code of Conduct and international laws/codes/conventions related to the rights of children and the overall protection of children.
