Amel Association International is recruiting a Social Worker to support Amel's Community Center in Ain el Remmaneh which provides vocational training, educational and psychosocial support to refugee women and children.
Under the guidance of the Head of Center, the Social Worker will be resonsible for the following:
Support the head of center in the organization of the activities:
- Assess the needs and priorities of the targeted beneficiaries and define suitable activities based on participatory approach in coordination with the psychological counselor;
- Select and recruit the required teachers and trainers;
- Assist the center responsible in the identification of training modules to be provided to teachers when needed (on mediation techniques and know how pertaining to children/youth psychosocial wellbeing among others);
- Set up appropriate timetable for psycho-social support, vocational training and educational activities
- Assess needs for supplies and materials to conduct the activities, prepare list of requirements and allocate and arrange space for the different activities;
- Follow-up on the attendance of women, report absences and propose appropriate measures when needed.
- Participate to the planning and implementation of a livelihood project with women (identify suppliers and clients, networking on the local market)
Monitoring and evaluation:
-Support the head of center in assessing the activities with women by designing and filling evaluation tools:
- Create a file for each refugee women
-Follow-up with trainers and women
-Organize a monthly meeting with teachers and trainers
Social counseling:
- Arrange social counseling for women seeking for assistance in educational and social field;
- Create, develop and maintain an appropriate network of institutions, NGOs and relevant partners in the concerned field of activity;
- Organize referrals and follow-up cases.
Outreach activities:
The Social Worker will assist the Center Responsible in developing full understanding of the refugee population profile in Lebanon, their protection concerns and needs by:
-Conducting field visit s at least once a month
- Collecting data and updating a database
- Conducting surveys and studies as requested
-Identify women in need of psycho-social support and provide them with appropriate activities;
Reporting / Meetings
- Prepare regular reports :
Monthly reports on activities
Monthly information sheet and other reports assigned by the center’s responsible
-Provide summaries on each activity once achieved
- Attend and actively participate to weekly staff meeting;
- Participate, as requested, in workshops and coordination meetings intended to improve professional knowledge and skills relevant to assigned responsibilities.
Other duties
- Assist the head of center in planning, monitoring, evaluation and follow up on all activities of the community center;
- Mobilize community support and participation in the various community based activities;
- Perform other duties as may be assigned.
