The Pharmacist will work as part of the Logistics / Health dept. The Pharmacist will support the IMC Health program reporting directly to the Logistics Manager daily. . The position is based in Beirut but will require regular visits to all IMC health field sites.
General Duties
Responsible for the medical warehouse, track, records and stock management in Beirut under the supervisor of the Logistics Manager. Distribute, track and transport to the field as required by the program.
Responsible to ensure medications are stored in the correct manner. Manage the warehouse assistant daily in the medical warehouse.
Ensure storage, classification and organization of drugs and material according to IMC protocols.
Ensure efficient management of the stock.
Record medications and ensure receiving quantities order from suppliers and prepare necessary documentation as required.
Follow-up movements of drugs and material (entry, exit, destinations, etc.)
Follow-up on any expired drugs and destroyed material, quantification and their subsequent destruction.
Carry out regular physical inventories in accordance with the mission’s procedures .
Report to the health department on medication with shelf life less than six month and work closely to be dispensed directly.
Provide accurate data (entry-exit), inventories and consumption follow-up database to facilitate efficient drugs and material orders
Apply hygiene and security procedures in the medical warehouse.
Ensure that temperature, humidity, light exposition are in accordance with products in the pharmacy especially ensure cold chain functioning and maintenance and ensure storage conditions according to national regulations.
Responsible to manage the medications donations between warehouse and the clinics.
Conduct regular visits to the supported clinics to ensure delivered pharmaceuticals and medical supplies donated are available, properly dispensed, and managed.
Supervise and train pharmacy assistants in the supported clinic. All topics related to medications, pharmacy management stock control, generating stock lists, and the proper handling of medicines
Any other relevant activities needed from the Health department should be done on time
The Pharmacist is part of the logistics and health department and therefore will work closely under the direction of those departments.
Send on a weekly basis the tracking sheet of available medication in the warehouse to the health department and the logistics departments.
