Project Assistant

KAFA (enough) Violence & Exploitation is a Lebanese non-profit civil organization working towards eradicating all forms of gender-based violence and exploitation of women and children. Under a project titled ‘Promoting Working with men and boys to end Violence Against Women in the Middle East’ funded by the European Union, in partnership with Oxfam GB and implemented by Kafa in Lebanon, Kafa is seeking to employ a Project assistant with the below qualifications to join her team.   REPORTING LINES: Post holder reports to: Project Coordinator Objectives/ Key duties and responsibilities:   JOB PURPOSE: To work with Kafa team namely  the Project Coordinator and partners/men’s forum in Baalbeck to support the implementation of components related to: working with men and boys to end VAW.  Location: Post holder will be based in Baalbek area with two days in Beirut.   KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Partnership support   Provide assistance to the project coordinator when needed Establish strong relationship with the partners in Baalbeck, Support the strategic plan of partners in Baalback and provide guidance and support for the implementation, Support partners in Baalback to develop their action plans and proposals Prepare periodic reports Prepare case studies and share widely on the successes made of the men’s forum, Establish monitoring and evaluation indicators in light of EC logical framework to monitor changes in attitudes, behaviours and practices for the activities of the EC project; Assist the Project Coordinator in setting up and implementing a mobilization strategy for men and boys as well as support and oversee the creation of men’s forums and the implementation of actions plans by men in key institutions Draft minutes of meetings in general, and specifically for the Men’s forum established in Baalbek Report on baalbek Men’s forum activities, as well as capturing progress indicators Capture learning and document the work of successful stories, to ensure that the programme inputs are producing positive results in the lives of women, In Collaboration with the Media Officer of KAFA ensure the partners’ activities in Baalback are well documented and disseminated with high visibility of EC, Assist the project coordinator in establishing Men’s Forum in different areas in Lebanon Provide trainings on the approch of engaging men to end violence against women approch Assist in planning, implementing, and reporting the activities of the White Ribbon campaign     Skills and Competences:   -          University degree in social or political sciences or related disciplines, including law and gender and development, -          At least 2 years of experience with NGOs in community based work -          Excellent oral and written communication and writing skills -          Knowledge of gender equality and relevance to poverty and vulnerability -          Strong belief in gender equality and inalienable women’s rights -          Strong belief in the role of men towards achieving gender equality and more specifically ending gender based violence. -          Knowledge and skills in computer usage including power point and social media   Preferable:   -          Demonstrated capacity of social and communication skills and ability to work with others and as part of the team -          Knowledge of the local community in Baalbek and Bekaa Area -          Willingness and fitness to travel for sustained periods of time -          Ability to work under stress and in a team -          Male
