Community Capacity Building Officer

BACKGROUND In order to support the improvement of targeting efficiency and evidence based programming among service providers operating in Palestinian camps, NRC is currently piloting a capacity building initiative with service providers and community representatives operating in Baddawi camp and in Rashedieh camp. This initiative include capacity building training events which target different service providers in the two camps (LNGOs, PCs and UNRWA) as well as formation of workgroups from the participants and support them to coordinate around joint initiative/project. NRC plans to continue this initiative in 2012 and extends it to include more Palestinian camps and/or gatherings. JOB PURPOSE: 1.To work with the capacity building project in the selected Palestinian camps and/or gatherings. 2.To facilitate, lead and attend relevant meetings and assessments at field level 3.To moderate and facilitate selected workshops and trainings 4.Participate actively in development of training modules, both in English and Arabic 5.Participate in organization, facilitation and implementation of training modules/ training programs for service providers. 6.Ensure a follow-up of trainings in the field by supporting implementation of new management techniques and development of activities (using a variety of techniques including coaching) 7.Organize and facilitate workshops/ sensitization sessions. 8.Organize and facilitate meetings and workshops with NGOs, CBOs and Popular Committees. 9.Participate in preparing, conducting and evaluating coaching sessions for community workgroups. 10.Ensure that the projects implemented are realized in a timely manner and as per the objectives and planned activities. 11.Provide timely reports on activities. EXPERIENCE REQUIRED oAt least 3 years of proven experience in designing & facilitating training programs oAt least 3 years of proven experience in community sensitization/ mobilization. oStrong documentation, research and report writing skills. oStrong language skills (Arabic and English verbal + written) oExperience in working with local NGOs & CBOs oExperience in coaching methodologies/techniques
