"Summary: International Medical Corps (IMC) is seeking a Social Researcher (SR) to work closely with IMC, in collaboration with the Ministry of Social Affairs (MOSA), and ABAAD-Resource Center for Gender Equality, to develop critical screening and documentation materials on domestic and gender based violence. The SR will work to ensure that developed materials are translated into national and standardized tools that lead to improved and standardized screening and documentation of domestic and gender based violence cases at the community based level (NGO supported health clinics & social centers and MOSA Social Development Centers, etc.)."
Responsibilities:
Conceptualize and oversee the development of a variety of screening and documentation tools, on domestic and gender based violence; Oversee data collection and management, serving the development of the following:
Screening tool for cases of Gender Based Violence (GBV) and Domestic Violence (DV) to be used by medical staff;
Code of Conduct for medical staff that will provide the ethical framework of providing services for women who are victims of GBV and DV.
Build and maintain ongoing relationships with relevant ministries and NGOs (both local and international);
Coordinate with the national technical task force chaired by MOSA that will carry out a peer review and finalize the standardized national tools developed (by the SR) during the consultancy period;
Partake in all technical meetings between IMC, ABAAD and MOSA pertaining to the organization of and technicalities of the task force.
Terms and Conditions
The social researcher will liaise with IMC, MOSA and ABAAD staff and will work with, and report to, Ms. Zeinab Hijazi, IMC Regional Mental Health Coordinator, Ms. Abeer Abdel Samad, Head of Women’s department at the MOSA, and Ms. Ghida Anani, IMC’s GBV Advisor.
Important: The Social Researcher shall keep confidential and shall not, without the written consent of the IMC, MOSA to divulge to any other party documents, data, or other information of a confidential nature.

• Demonstrated commitment to working on gender and protection issues, with a specific interest in ending domestic and gender based violence;
• Demonstrated knowledge in:
o The use of a range of social research and evaluation methods and the types of evidence they produce;
o The Lebanese context related to the field of Gender Based Violence.
• Demonstrated skills in qualitative and quantitative policy analysis;
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to present produced tools before audiences;
• Solid organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, often working under deadline;
