Essential Scope of Work:
Under the supervision of International Medical Corps’ Country Director for Libya and the GBV Program Manager, the Consultant will support the establishment of a telephone helpline for survivors of gender-based violence and others seeking assistance. Helpline responders will provide basic support, information and referrals for callers. The Consultant will be responsible for organizing and delivering a two-week training to prepare responders for this work.
Deliverables and Responsibilities will include:
Design an appropriate two-week training plan, based on the expected project outputs and participant profiles
Develop and organize training materials, including multimedia visual aids, handouts and a resource guide
Facilitate two-week interactive training
Include M&E measures to evaluate effectiveness of training and provide recommendations
Provide recommendations for supervisors supporting Responders
Ensure training complies with Libya government standards
Produce a training report
Profile of consultant:
Advanced degree in social work, psychology or similarly appropriate educational/professional background
Experience in gender-based violence programming
Experience organizing and leading training workshops
Experience in direct support of survivors of sexual violence
Experience in Libya or similar contexts preferred
Arabic language skills strongly preferred
Timeline:
The Consultant will work with International Medical Corps in Libya for a period of one month. The month-long assignment will include familiarization with project goals and development of a training plan for Responders, implementation of a two-week training course, and development of a brief training report complete with evaluation information and project recommendations.
