Community Health Worker

* Carry out interface-activities with the Community, in accordance with the MSF mental health activities. * Deliver information to the community regarding Mental health, healthy lifestyle and services available using tools (e.g newsletter, brochure, leaflet) and interaction with the people. *Promote MSF services in the community * Support the psychologist and the psychiatrist to organise patients’ appointment and rescheduling

* Refer beneficiaries to the MSF health facilities

* Defaulters tracing and follow up in coordination with the social worker

  Responsibilities to MSF : •           General knowledge of MSF: Has a general understanding of the association, its functioning, structure and values (charter). •           Is aware of MSF’s objectives and activities in general and in the working context. Participates actively in meetings and trainings •           Co-operation with other departments: Is aware of security rules and situation in the field at all time. •           Is aware of activities of other departments and respect specific rules and procedures. Provides support when necessary. •           Information source: Help the comprehension of general issues regarding social and political context through sharing of information Required to keep up to date with minutes of meetings and decisions taken by the team.      This position reports to : hierarchical: Field Coordinator, Medical Coordinator (for medical aspects) technical : Field Medical Referent   Others Specific activities linked to context:   * Work as a member of a multidisciplinary team and ensure a good flow of communication of any relevant information. Attend and participate actively in clinical and medical meetings and community Mental Health events/activities and in the institutional supervision.   Personal qualities:  Flexibility, ability to work with multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural people, good communication skills, ability to listen, diplomacy, tolerance and ability to deal with people suffering from mental health problems.    Candidates holding Technical Baccalaureate (B.T) in Nursing/Social Animation are accepted.   Period: Available for minimum One year renewable.
