SHEILD is looking for a Field Outreach Worker
Generic Duties:
The Field Outreach Worker position will respond to all the field protection related referrals and cases in the 7 districts of the South.
The position’s responsibilities will comprise Multi-dimensional/Sectorial activities pertaining to needs in the Basic Assistance, Shelter, and WASH sectors as identified by UNHCR.
- Assist UNHCR Field Unit to carry out field related assessments
- Assist UNHCR Field Unit in the shelter relocation as well as monitoring UNHCR shelter units
- Carry out Basic Assistance Post-Distribution Monitoring activities including household visits and focus group discussions
- Carry out Core Relief Items distributions as directed and according to UNHCR standard operating procedures
Specific Duties:
- Work as mobile/outreach team to identify, register and analyze beneficiaries’ specifics needs taking record of the vulnerabilities (i.e. community mobilization, field assessments, data analysis, report writing, etc.);
- Develop a community approach to ensure a confidence in UNHCR process and project.
- Report on a regular basis to UNHCR field unit respecting the reporting lines and mechanism
- Refer all cases identified internally to the working team.
- Refer all cases identified externally in case no appropriate and immediate response to needs could be given by SHEILD
- Share with the other team members the cases located outside of your area of intervention.
- Compile data and submit high quality structured reports with as per given schedule.
- Knowledge of UNHCR protection principals is an asset
- Report and refer incidents and protection cases through UNHCR referral pathways
- Provide hygiene awareness sessions to relocated HHs.
Generic professional competencies:
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience
- Knowledge of UNHCR protection principals is an asset
- Strong organizational skills and able to coordinate and manage a diverse array of activities and stakeholders
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent reporting skills
- Strong negotiation and mediation skills and ability to work independently
- Report writing skills and computer skills in word processing, spreadsheets, and Power point
- Knowledge of the NGO operations and the dynamics of the humanitarian sector is a plus
- A previous experience with SHEILD is a plus
