General objective of the job
The ICT and Logistics is responsible for the management, maintenance and development of all ICT equipment. S/he delivers technical ICT advice and support for curriculum related activities.
S/he acts as a logistics focal point.
Position in the organisation
The ICT and Logistics Officer is part of the Operations Department reporting to the Operations Support Manager.
S/he does not manage staff.
Result areas
Providing ICT support
- Assists in planning and implementing changes to elements of the ICT service;
- Sets up equipment such as laptops, data projectors, interactive whiteboards, sound systems and other specialist ICT equipment, ensuring that systems are ready for use and operating correctly;
- Installs new software and hardware;
- Supervises ICT related issues in the office and provides Technical ICT Support;
- Works to and give guidance to others on the ICT acceptable use policy;
- Performs basic diagnostic routines for Server & Network;
- Checks broadband connectivity is maintained;
- Detects, diagnose and resolve most PC, printer and peripheral device faults;
- Introduces and trains staff on SharePoint;
- Coordinates with the HR to provide laptops, IDs and emails for new staff;
Result: ICT technical support is given to staff in such a way that issues are resolved at all times.
Handling Procurement
- Identifies possible suppliers to fulfill the planned procurement, based on the needs and programs locations, ensuring the widest realistic openness of competition, and documents the process;
- Implements and maintains War child Holland internal procurement procedures for the projects, with records kept for a full audit trail standard under both War Child Holland and donor regulations;
- Liaises and co-ordinates with all relevant departments and partners regarding requisitions;
- Follows up on delivery of goods and keeps all parties fully informed of any changes;
- Ensures necessary authorizations / approvals are always obtained;
- Executes the purchase and delivery of appropriate supplies in a timely and cost effective manner;
- Maintains an up‐to‐date inventory of ICT software and supplies to secure best value for goods and services;
- Ensures routine safety checks, including electrical tests, are carried out and appropriate records maintained;
- Coordinates warranty, maintenance and insurance claims for all Assets/Inventory Items;
- Builds and maintains good professional working relationship with suppliers;
- Supports staff in charge of procurement in all Field/Project offices to fulfill their roles and responsibilities by providing guidance, information and training;
Result: Procurement activities for all projects are done on time in such a matter that WCH procedures and donor regulations are followed.
Knowledge and Experience
Relevant academic background (IT, Computer Science, Business…)
Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in a similar position;
Skills and Competencies
Knowledge of program development, logistics and administration;
Planning, analytical and organizational capabilities;
Strong planning and organizing skills to handle many tasks with deadlines;
Fluent English and Arabic;
Advanced computer skills;
