Fundraising Officer

Core Responsibilities

  • Identify funding opportunities with local or international foundations, governments and intergovernmental organizations
  • Oversee and prepare proposals, grant submissions, budgets, evaluations and reports in coordination with relevant staff, and ensure oversight throughout the period of the program
  • Network with current and potential donors and partners – close collaboration with the  Executive Director throughout application and implementation of programs 
  • Attend community events, meetings, or conferences to promote organizational goals or solicit donations or sponsorships
  • Secure commitments of participation or donation from individuals or corporate donors.
  • Develop strategies to encourage new or increased contributions.
  • Recruit sponsors, participants or volunteers for fundraising events.
  • Create or update donor databases.
  • Develop fundraising activity plans that maximize participation or contributions and minimize costs.
  • Plan and direct special events for fundraising
  • Conduct research to identify the goals, net worth, history of charitable donations, or other data related to potential donors, potential investors, or general donor markets
  • Identify, research and form new fundraising groups within the community
  • Provide support for existing LWAH fundraising programs
  • Build stronger relationships with local community group
  • Represent LWAH's cause confidently in a range of formal and informal settings
  • Promote LWAH fundraising activities to new supporters including workplaces, schools/ universities and clubs
  • Build relationships with LWAH staff and volunteers to increase awareness of and support for LWAH activities and programs
  • Build relationships with the local media including press, radio and digital, to ensure good coverage
  • Monitor on-going performance against agreed plans
  • Provide monthly fundraising reports

 

Competencies / Requirements

  • University degree in, but not limited to, marketing, sales, project management etc...
  • Familiarity with fundraising networks - nationally and internationally
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in concise proposal writing, program evaluation and donor reporting as well as fundraising activities
  • A good communicator and experienced presenter, highly persuasive with an ability to inspire
  • Highly organized with an ability to work independently whilst presenting strong teamwork skills
  • Excellent social skills, friendly and easy to approach working style
  • Understanding of the charity sector
  • Excellent written and verbal presentation skills in English and  Arabic,  French language skills would be an advantage
