Job Summary:

The finance controller has responsibility of ensuring the quality of the Financial Accounts function. He/she will also be responsible for capacity building; implementing efficient & effective processes; improving and ensuring compliance with internal control systems.

Working Conditions:

This position will be located in Beirut, with visits to other relevant offices and suppliers. Additionally, travel to the field offices is required as necessary. Working areas include but are not limited to Beirut & North Lebanon

Detailed Responsibilities & Tasks

Responsibility #1: Internal controls and capacity building of the finance team

• Assist the DCD- Support in ensuring smooth implementation and updating of robust and adequate financial systems and procedures in line with CARE finance Policy and good accounting practices
• Maintain and ensure the integrity of the accounting systems (SAGA) and liaising with HQ  Finance Team for any required support
• Support the finance officer in preparing month end analysis for review and approval of the DCD Support
• Develop a month end review tool in coordination with HQ Finance team

Responsibility #2: Reviewing Balance sheet analysis and year end

• Support the DCD with the analysis and corrections of the balance sheet for semi-annual closure
• Prepare and post corrections after discussion with DCD – Support
• Support the preparation of year end closure
