Senior Accountant

Specific Duties and Responsibilities

  1.  Follow up the incoming and outgoing receipts of pay slips and any kind of printed accounting documents to maintain the accounting books
  2. Input of accounting data into the Sage MIP accounting software on daily basis in a precise manner
  3. Process all payable transactions of the Lebanon office.  Includes:  processing of all invoices and payments ensuring accuracy, proper documentation and approval.   Identify and resolve any difference/disputes between vendor and ANERA.  Maintain required records and reports in an organized manner.
  4. Process and record all receipts in the general ledger system for review and approval by the Finance and Compliance Manager.  Maintain neat and orderly records to support research as necessary.  Prepare daily receipts reports.
  5. Classify and file the accounting backup documents in an organized manner for easy retrieval
  6. Banking, processing bank deposits, including trips to the bank.   All associated finance entries
  7. Reconciliation of credit and debit cards and communication for obtaining supporting documents
  8. Assist in the preparation of  standard financial reports, projects’ financial reports and ad hoc financial reports on request
  9. Assist in preparation of project/program budgets
  10. Assist in reviewing partners’ financial reports and reconciliation of grant agreements with payments and reports submitted
  11. Participate in and support the monthly and annual accounting closings.
  12. Compile and maintain a procedural manual for all job tasks
  13. Perform any other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications:

  1.  Bachelor’s Degree in Business (preferably in accounting / finance)
  2. 3-4 years accounting experience or similar positions, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  3. Working knowledge of: accounting concept and practices, financial record bookkeeping, methods of performing basic business mathematics calculation , and office management techniques
  4. Ability to organize workflow and coordinate activities
  5. Ability to maintain confidentiality

 

Required knowledge, skills and abilities

  1. Detail oriented, ability to show initiative and take responsibility
  2. Strong organizational, administrative, analytical and customer service skills
  3. Strong MS office skills
  4. Proficiency in spreadsheet and word processing software
  5. Familiar with automated accounting systems (preferably Sage MIP Fund software)
  6. Ability to manage multiple tasks with deadlines
  7. Ability to deal effectively with vendors and staff
  8. Effective time management skills
  9. Enhance verbal and interpersonal communication skills
  10. Effective problem solving skills
  11. Ability to work independently  and in a team oriented environment
  12. Ability to favorably represent the organization’s image to partners and clients
