Web Application Intern (Dalili) Beirut, Lebanon (one position)

Under the direct supervision of the Project Manager, the Intern will perform the following tasks:

 

Conduct user research to advise the team on usage and future development of the application

Support data collection and maintenance for the application (prices, images, etc.)

Engage shops and users on the appropriate usage of the application

Any other task as requested by either the Project team or the country office

Minimum Requirements:

 

Eligibility: To be considered for an internship with WFP, applicants must meet one of the following requirements:

 

a. Be currently enrolled in an undergraduate programme (for example, Bachelor’s degree) from a recognised university and have completed at least two years of the programme. Candidates should have attended classes in the past 12 months;

 

b. Be currently enrolled in a graduate programme (for example, Master degree) from a recognised university and have attended classes in the past 12 months;

 

c. Be a recent graduate from an undergraduate or graduate programme (within six months prior to the application to the internship programme) from a recognised university and have attended classes in the last 12 months of enrolment in the university.

 

Education: Selected candidate should be currently enrolled or recently graduated from one or more of the following disciplines: Information Management Systems, Computer Science or Information Technology.

Language: Fluent in English. Fluency in Arabic is a plus.

 

Desirable Skills:

 

Knowledge of the local / regional communications landscape

 

Ability to interact with managers with maturity and tact

 

Mature judgment with strong communication and interpersonal skills

 

Collaborative spirit able to liaise with a wide range of people at all levels

Terms and Conditions:

Interns receive a monthly stipend from WFP up to the amount of US$1,000 per month depending on the duty station.

WFP is not responsible for living expenses, arrangements for accommodation, travel to and from WFP internship location, necessary visas and costs related.

This position is open to qualified International and Lebanese candidates. Female candidates in particular, are encouraged to apply.
