GVC – Inclusion and Empowerment Supervisor
GVC is an Italian NGO founded in 1971. Actually is working in 22 countries worldwide. GVC presence in Lebanon dates back to the begin of Syrian Crisis and since then GVC has been implementing emergency and development projects in Bekaa financed by International Donors mainly in WASH sector.
GVC is actually recruiting personnel to cover the position of 1 Inclusion and Empowerment Supervisor to support activities in Bekaa.
Position Title: Inclusion and Empowerment Supervisor
Reporting to: Protection Officer
Duty station: Al Ain/Baalbek
Salary grade: G4/L1
OBJECTIVES:
- Responsible for the helpline as an effective mechanism for community members to request for assistance and reporting misconduct;
- Develop and monitor a communication plan for the helpline;
- Responsible for community empowerment by increasing their knowledge and access to services, targeted awareness campaigns on People With Disabilities;
- Ensure prompt response to emergency cases informing Protection Officer immediately.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Respond to GVC helpline calls ensuring confidentiality and privacy are respected;
- Record all calls data in GVC platform in compliance with GVC accountability principles;
- Provide information requested to callers;
- Forward referrals to Protection Officer;
- Contribute to periodical update of service mapping in collaboration with the Protection Officer;
- Timely refer to Protection Officer and Emergency Officer on individuals and HH in need of emergency support;
- Develop and monitor a communication plan for the helpline to be distributed within GVC area of intervention to support and promote self-referrals;
- Ensure community awareness of service providers within their area (e.g. notice boards materials, awareness raising, …);
- Organize and develop, when needed, awareness raising activities on People With Disabilities and other topics as per CPA findings;
- Document complaints received through the helpline as per SoP and in ABSOLUT respect of privacy and confidentiality of person reporting and person allegedly responsible.
REPORTING
- Weekly and monthly reporting to Protection Officer as per GVC internal forms.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor Degree in social science, anthropology, or similar subject;
- At least 3 years of previous experience in the humanitarian sector, social welfare, community based mechanism, social inclusion;
- Arabic and fluency in spoken and written English
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, in particular Word and Excel;
- Previous work in NGOs will be an asset;
- Driving license.

EMPLOYEMENT CONDITIONS
- Contract duration: 10 months full-time with possibility to renew;
- Required Starting Date: ASAP
- Duty Station: 100% North Bekaa (GVC Al Ain Office or Baalbek).
