Trainer on dialogue, facilitation and mediation

We are searching for…
A trainer specialized in dialogue, facilitation and mediation who will take the lead on
facilitating an inception workshop, conduct a training on the above mentioned skills
and organize one on one online coaching sessions for agents of change for the Silat
Wasel (II) project funded by the European Union and the General Federal Foreign
office through GIZ. This project aims at promoting the collaboration between Syrian
Civil Society actors and strengthening the capacities of Syrian agents of change in
conflict transformation.
Your contribution
The roles and responsibilities will include:
▪ Plan and conduct the facilitation of a 4-day inception workshop for the
project team to create a common vision and workplan for the project
implementation on the local level, which includes:

a- Drafting the agenda of the inception workshop which includes clear
objectives, expectations and outcomes in addition to the exercises and tools
used for each session;
b- Delivering one 4-days inception workshop.
▪ Plan and conduct a 5-day capacity building training on dialogue, facilitation
and mediation for the project participants on effective approaches to
facilitation in addition to designing and implementing dialogue processes,
which includes:
a- Drafting the agenda of the training including clear objectives and
expectations in addition to the exercises and tools to be used for each session;
b- Delivering the 5-day day training on dialogue, facilitation and mediation for
participants.
▪ Organize and conduct a maximum of 21 online coaching sessions to
provide technical support and expertise that the project team can use in the
implementation of activities;
▪ Responsible for the management and reporting on the inception workshop,
training and coaching ensuring timely and qualitative reporting;
▪ Responsible of the monitoring and evaluation of progress of participants
ensuring capturing successes, changes, challenges, and lessons learnt;
▪ Delivering activity report based on Search’s template.

undertake other duties that are broadly in line with the above key duties.

You are…

Search Lebanon seeks an experienced trainer with the following qualifications:
● Minimum of three (3) years of related experience, including facilitation of workshops,
organization of dialogue processes and trainings on conflict transformation
● Experience in organizing and managing online trainings is required
● Experience in mediation and conducting trainings on it
● Excellent knowledge of civil society actors and networks in Syria
● Candidates should be highly aware of the overall security situation and community
dynamics in Syria
● University academic background required
● Previous experience working with an international organization is an advantage
● Fluency in English considered an advantage
● Peacebuilding values and attitudes: a personal commitment to use nonviolence and
dialogue as effective methods to prevent and resolve daily problems
● Excellent interpersonal and networking skills
● Strong oral and written communications skills
● Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
● Capacity to empathize with others
● Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel and social media platforms
● Creative problem solving, particularly in challenging situations
● Good communications and reporting skills
