Human Resources Intern – MENA

 

ORGANISATIONAL CONTEXT

The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) is the world's largest humanitarian network, reaching 150 million people each year through its 190 member National Societies. The Organizations acts before, during and after disasters and health emergencies in order to meet the needs and improve the lives of vulnerable people. Our work is guided by seven fundamental principles (humanity, impartiality, neutrality, independence, voluntary service, unity and universality) and by Strategy 2020, which voices our collective vision and determination to move forward in tackling the major challenges that confront humanity in the present decade.

The IFRC’s MENA regional office is based in Beirut, Lebanon and covers 17 countries with 7 country offices in Lebanon, Iraq, Syria, Yemen, Palestine, Jordan, and Libya(in Tunisia temporarily due to security considerations) and 2 cluster offices for North Africa(excluding Libya) in Tunisia and for the Gulf countries in the United Arab Emirates. MENA 17 member National Societies are namely: the Algerian Red Crescent, Bahrain Red Crescent Society, Egyptian Red Crescent, Emirates Red Crescent, Iraqi Red Crescent Society, Red Crescent of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Jordan National Red Crescent Society, Kuwait Red Crescent Society, Lebanese Red Cross, Libyan Red Crescent Society, Moroccan Red Crescent, Palestine Red Crescent Society, Qatar Red Crescent Society, Saudi Red Crescent Authority, Syrian Arab Red Crescent, Tunisian Red Crescent, and the Yemen Red Crescent Society.

OBJECTIVE

To assist in administrative HR activities and delivering efficient service and support. In return, the intern will benefit from this experience by learning how to analyze quantitative data, statistical data or human social situations and developing a working knowledge of various types of recruitment processes and due diligence. 

MAIN TASKS

  • Sort out incoming resumes and log them into tracking spreadsheet.
  • Record all resumes and personal documents in HR electronic files (Create Employee packs)
  • Update personnel files and ensure that relevant documentation and information are kept in their respective files including updated JD and a signed copy of national staff internal regulations.
  • Tracking system to post jobs
  • Produce a statistics report for national recruitment Statistical duties about our vacancies (how many time posted, duration, number of applicants etc)
  • Create a pool of CVs
  • Assist with planning and scheduling a one-day staff retreat.
  • Search for, retrieve, compile, assemble and archive a variety of human resources and administrative data from computer files, records, reports or from other sources

Education Degree Details
The intern must be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree programme from a recognized university in one of the following areas: Human Resources, Administration, and other related areas. The intern must have attended courses in the last 12 months and have completed at least two years undergraduate studies.
