Job Purpose

International Alert is seeking an illustrator and graphic designer consultant, for its Justice and Livelihood Opportunities project in Central and North Bekaa, and Akkar. The consultant will work on developing illustrations and layouts for Alert and its partners’ 3 publications. 

The consultant will work on the following:

1. Develop and design an average of 10 illustrations for the case-study research on mediation. 
2. Design, edit, and layout the design for the case-study research on the rights and protection of vulnerable individuals working in the informal sector.
3. Design, edit, and layout the design for the Alert policy brief report. 
4. All 3 publications will be in English and Arabic; therefore, English-Arabic versions will have the same design(s).

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Develop & Design

• Develop & design an average of 10 illustrations to accompany the narrative case-studies. 
• Develop & design the front cover of the Mediation Case-Study Research.

2. Design, Edit, and Layout    

• Design, edit, and layout the hard-copy and digital/soft-copy of the Alert publications: (a) informal study, (b) policy brief, and (c) mediation-case study research.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

BA in design and/or fine arts from a reputable university  

Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in design and illustrations.

Have strong design and document formatting skills. Experience of using Illustrator, Photoshop

Fluent in Arabic and English

Excellent inter-personal, communication and presentation skills
