School Manager

Main Responsibilities:

Ensuring proper development of contents and methodologies to be adopted for the implementation of NFE activities

Monitoring training courses of volunteers on enhanced education response capacity and service provision according to international standards and principles;

Guaranteeing compliance to MEHE standards on NFE in the implementation of training courses;

Providing inputs, guidance and support to ensure the quality implementation of the education projects’ activities from the academic point of view;

Building the capacity, coordinating and supervising the education staffs according to the educational and child protection standards, existing tools, and best practices;

Coordinating with Protection Technical Manager and Education Technical Manager in reviewing and implementing the selection criteria, registration forms, outreach methods, and strategy for drop outs/waiting list follow up.

Oversighting and supporting the social workers in planning and implementation of activities;

Supporting the implementation of homework support sessions

Supporting the implementation of proper classes for children parallel to public schools;

Promoting transition to certified educational pathways

Setting up a work plan for the implementation of the activities

Conceiving a manual for children to be used by the students

Conceiving a manual for teachers to be used by the staff

Capacitating and follow up the work of the teachers on the conduction of non-formal education activities and their follow-up in the field

Evaluating the quality of the non-formal educational activities conducted

Providing reports with lessons learnt best practices, challenges, recommendations, etc.

 

Professional competencies

A minimum of 5 years of experience in Education programs in Lebanon.

Proven knowledge of Education in Emergency (EiE) standards and guidelines

Proven knowledge of INEE tools.

Proven knowledge of MEHE procedures and strategy

Proven knowledge of MEHE adopted school curricula

Proven knowledge of NFE, and of transitioning to formal pathways

Knowledge of the region and previous experiences in humanitarian programs in response to the Syrian crisis is an asset

Strong practical background in Education programs

Basic understanding of child protection standards in education and in humanitarian context

Previous line management experience;

Proficient in MS Office (i.e., Word, Excel, outlook etc.).
