Translator

Job Description

- Read through original material and rewrite it in the target language, ensuring that the meaning of the source text is retained

- Use specialist dictionaries, thesauruses and reference books to find the closest equivalents for terminology and words used

- Ensure translated content conveys original meaning and tone

- Cross-reference specialized dictionaries and translation tools to check quality of translation

- Proofread translated texts for grammar, spelling and punctuation accuracy

- Follow up with internal team members and management to ensure translation meets their needs

- Edit content with an eye toward maintaining its original format (e.g. font and structure)

- Liaise with Management to discuss any unclear points

- Proofread and edit final translated versions

- Follow various translation-quality standards to ensure legal and ethical obligations

Qualifications/Requirements, Knowledge and Experience

- Bachelor's Degree

- Fluency in at Least Two Languages, Written and Verbal Communication

- Understanding of Grammar

- Interpersonal Communication

- Attention to Detail

- Motivation

- Ability to Meet Deadlines

- Ability to Work Under Pressure
