BACKGROUND
L'Institut Européen de Coopération et de Développement (IECD) is a French development
organization, created in 1988, operating in the field of international
solidarity. Today, IECD and its local partners implement several programs for
vocational training, access to education, support to small enterprises and
health care projects in 14 countries. It has been running projects in Lebanon since
1989.
Semeurs d’Avenir (SdA)is a Lebanese non-for profit organization, created in 2010, operating in the field of vocational and educational training. Semeurs d’Avenir is the key operational partner of IECD in Lebanon. Along with IECD, a team of some 50 people runs about ten projects in the country.

IECD and SdA have been enjoying strong growth in Lebanon over the past years. They are seeking to hire a communication officer who will increase their visibility and promote the philanthropic mission of IECD and SdA, and improve the outreach to beneficiaries. This is a new position.
MISSION
Under the responsibility of the director, the Communication and Outreach Officer is responsible of the content and quality of external communication, and outreach to beneficiaries on social media.
Responsibilities, Duties and Tasks
1- Develop a communication strategy for IECD and SdA
Ø Contributes to the communication strategy targeting the relevant stakeholders: donors, institutional partners,
operational partners, beneficiaries. Tasks will include developing new communication methods to reach target
audiences, and tailoring messages by target audience.
Ø Liaises with the communication manager at IECD Headquarters.
2- Designs marketing tools
Ø Manages and updates SdA's website. The officer researches, writes, edits, proofreads, and supervises the production and/or review process for all content related to communications on website designs.
Ø Supports in editing documents presenting IECD and SdA and their projects: presentations, leaflets, notes… in compliance with IECD’s corporate identity and style guide
Ø Manages list of contacts of IECD/SdA community and other targeted internal and external groups in Lebanon.
Ø Takes pictures or videos and gather testimonies from beneficiaries on a regular basis. The officer may be required to provide direction to photographers and other required staff.
3- Supports events
Ø Develops and maintains production schedules for various communications events.
Ø Designs and implements communication plans for special events: Job fairs, graduation with VIPs… The officer liaises with
media (TV, radio, newspapers…) and media agencies, prepares and issues press releases and press kit; supports amplification on social media.
Ø Liaises with media and agencies, and handles requests for interviews, statements etc.
4- Supports outreach to beneficiaries (in close coordination with operational staff)
Ø Supports operational staff in the design of the communication tools of their projects: flyers, leaflets, booklets…
Ø Designs a social media outreach strategy for the targeted groups and regions.
Ø Manages social media accounts including Facebook, WhatsApp, and other appropriate platforms.
Ø Define and measure core KPIs on a regular basis.
PROFILE
Education: BA/Masters in Public Relations, communication, journalism, marketing or
related field.
Languages and IT:
Excellent command of the pack
office (Word, Excel, Power Point), and Websites.
Command of graphic design software (Adobe Creative Cloud) would be a plus. Webmaster skills would be a plus.
Fluent in Arabic, French and English
Experience:
Minimum of 3-year experience in communication, in-house and/or at an agency servicing businesses, Government or NGOs
Social media management experience
Expected skills and qualities:
Excellent writing, presentation and oral communication skills
Ability to synthesize information into succinct and engaging news
Detail oriented and organized
Strong autonomy and sense of initiative
Good interpersonal skills
Ability to travel in Lebanon
Adherence to the values of IECD & SDA: a focus on the person, a principle of service, a professional commitment
CONDITIONS
Status: fixed-term contract (12 months)
Working hours: Full time position – from Monday to Friday.
Location: Beirut with occasional business trips in the areas where projects are implemented.

Communication Manager, Partnerships officers (France and Lebanon)
