ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Quality Officer will be in charge of monitoring the quality initiatives in the respective field area. S/He will coordinate with colleagues at IMC and supported primary health care centers to identify gaps and develop improvement plans in the supported facilities and services. The incumbent plays a key role in supporting the health facilities to achieve quality targets according to guidelines and protocols informed by Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) and WHO.
General Responsibilities:
- Perform regular quality supervisory visits to supported facilities for assessment, monitoring, and guidance.
- Conduct a range of quality assurance tasks including observations, audits, completion of checklists and others.
- Identify gaps in health services at supported facilities based on MoPH standards.
- Support IMC field staff in conducting needs assessments and participatory assessments to identify additional gaps and areas of improvement
- Identify priorities and support in development of quality improvement plans in collaboration with the health facilities and the field staff
- Offer technical support and mentoring to achieve quality improvement
- Track performance of the supported facilities towards meeting a set of quality improvement indicators
- Evaluate the facility’s monthly performance against defined targets to determine clinic staff incentive provision
- Collect all supporting documents for the incentive provision
- Track the budget vs. the actual incentive provision for the quality program on a monthly basis with the PDQM and finance if needed.
- Perform any other duties as requested
Reporting:
- Work with the field team to ensure regular collection of the quality program data and documentation as per grant and reporting requirements.
- Submit regular qualitative reports on the quality updates within the respective area
- Maintain detailed records on quality assessments, indicators, performance and trends
- Prepare statistics on quality performance and quality success stories as relevant
