POSITION GENERAL OBJECTIVE
Under the supervision of Nutrition Deputy Program Manager, the Nutritionist Field Officer is responsible for the daily technical planning, supervision, monitoring and reporting of the field activities related to nutrition awareness within the FSL sector, community capacity building, conduction of nutrition and care practices sessions with the beneficiaries and for ensuring proper coordination with municipalities, other authorities, beneficiaries and related ACF departments. The position requires extensive field work and movement in North and Central Bekaa (Baalbeck and Hermel Governorates).
POSITION SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES AND TASKS
Objective 1 - Needs analysis and adapting approaches to cultural context (15%)
In collaboration with other Field Officers in the team and the Nutrition Deputy PM, the Nutritionist Field officer will be responsible of assessing on a regular basis IYCF and nutrition practices amongst the targeted communities in the areas of interventions.
S/he will be responsible for determining the optimal and sub-optimal practices needing improvement.
Objective 2 - Nutrition and Care Practices sessions implementation (40%)
With the collaboration of other Field Officers in the team and the Nutrition Deputy PM, the Nutritionist Field Officer will identify new locations for the conduction of the nutrition and care practices sessions.
The Nutritionist Field Officer will be responsible for organizing and implementing the community mobilization, with the support of other Field Officers (whenever required).
The Nutritionist Field Officer will be responsible for conducting nutrition and care practices sessions.
The Nutritionist Field Officer will be responsible to conduct Nutrition and Hygiene sessions in the schools identified by the Agriculture team.
S/he will stimulate the exchange between the beneficiaries in discussion on a particular theme and make them more dynamic.
S/he will be responsible for conducting the nutrition assessments required for the project and activities implementation
S/he will participate to any other nutrition activities that could be identified based on the beneficiaries needs or linked to the nutritional situation
Support in building relationships between Action Against Hunger, district authorities, municipalities and communities.
Objective 3 - Food hygiene and food preservation sessions implementation (20%)
With the collaboration of other Field Officers in the team, the Nutritionist Field Officer will identify new locations for the conduction of the food hygiene and food preservation sessions with the support from food preservation trainer.
With other Field Officers, The Nutritionist Field Officer will be responsible for organizing and implementing the community mobilization.
Objective 4 – Focal Points identification and capacity building (15%)
With the support of other Field Officers, the Nutritionist Field Officer will be responsible for the identification, training and follow-up of focal points within the targeted communities, on different care practices topics.
S/he will be responsible for responding to the Focal points needs in term of technical support and reporting the challenges they are facing.
Objective 5 – Reporting (10%)
With the support of other Field Officers, the Nutritionist Field Officer will be responsible for reporting the work and activities implemented in the field.
Through a narrative report, s/he will report the challenges faced through the implementation process and provide possible solutions relevant to the context and culture.
Objective 6 – Security
Respect the security rules specified in the mission and base security plan, see to it that the team under his/her responsibility complies with the security plan and perform the security management tasks that can be assigned in its protocols.
Communicate to the security managers of the working location any security related information or noncompliance with the security plan
Objective 7 - Support humanitarian activities of Action Against Hunger
Support the emergency interventions of the organization as per the employee’s abilities.
Support any activity that helps reaching our humanitarian goals, as per the employee’s abilities.
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Training/ Education:
Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics or relevant degree.
Technical specific knowledge:
A minimum knowledge about infant and young child feeding, nutrition during the life cycle and food security and livelihoods programs.
Previous experience:
A minimum of one-year experience working in community nutrition.
Experience in working with the response to the Syrian crisis especially in Lebanon.
Humanitarian sector knowledge:
Good team worker, good listener, high communication skills, good animator and facilitator.
Action Against Hunger knowledge:

Languages:
Working language in English written and speaking. Arabic.
IT and specific systems:
Good command of MS Office, compulsory expertise in Excel.
