3 full time social workers

HCS is seeking to develop on this project and to change the criteria of selecting of beneficiaries to have a better impact. Follow-up is very important in this regard. Here comes the role of the social worker.

Health Care Society (HCS), is a non- profit humanitarian organization that was founded in 1997. Its mission is to provide the Palestinian refugees in Lebanon with health security.

Responsibilities:

• Identify people who need support for surgery or hospitalization
• Help in filling application for beneficiaries, and following the criteria set by HCS regulations.
• Assess beneficiaries’ needs, situations, strengths, and support networks to determine their goals
• Follow up with beneficiaries to ensure that their situations have improved
• Evaluate services provided to ensure that they are effective.
• Reporting and documentation skills in Arabic and English languages

Skills

• Compassion: must have compassion and empathy for their beneficiaries.
• Interpersonal skills. Strong skills to foster healthy and productive relationships with the beneficiaries and colleagues.
• Listening skills. To effectively help, must be able to listen to and understand the beneficiaries’ needs.
• Organizational skills. Helping and managing multiple beneficiaries, often assisting with their paperwork or documenting their treatment, requires good organizational skills.
• Time-management skills.  Able effectively to manage the time to provide adequate services to all of the beneficiaries.
• Computer skills: to keep records of all the beneficiaries who apply for support, even if they don’t fit the criteria, to use these data later for statistics purposes; and to create new projects accordingly. Able to use excel, social media, win-word, etc.
