Consultancy for Marine Litter Report

1. BACKGROUND

Lebanon Eco Movement is implementing, in partnership with Lebanese Environment Forum an Action entitled: “Lebanese civil Society combatting for a plastic free Mediterranean Sea” funded by EU Lebanon Eco Movement wishes to undertake the consultancy services of a research center or a university.

2. PURPOSE OF THE ASSIGNMENT

Lebanon Eco Movement is seeking the consultancy services of a research center or a university under the Action entitled “Lebanese civil Society combatting for a plastic free Mediterranean Sea” to provide a report about the marine litter and plastic pollution.

3. SCOPE OF WORK

The Research center / University will have the following duties and responsibilities:

• work on scientific evidences on the depth and nature of marine litter in Lebanon, document marine litter and plastic pollution.
• Focus on both land-based and sea-based sources of pollution.
• Deliver a report that will serve to understand the main causes of sea pollution in Lebanon.
• Dedicate an expert to review the project’s call for proposals and participate in the selection of submitted projects.  

4. WORK DURATION

The Consultancy will be conducted from October 1st, 2018 to January 31st, 2019. Thus, the work duration shall not exceed 40 expert days including that doing researches, deliver report and dedicate an expert to review the call for proposals and participate in the selection of submitted projects.
