Policy Briefs Contextualization

The following task is part of ABAAD Resource Center for Gender Equality’s project on increasing community outreach and advocacy using the findings of the International Men and Gender Equality Survey (IMAGES) to promote non-traditional gender roles.

About the project:
ABAAD is increasing community outreach and advocacy using the findings of the
IMAGES study to promote non-traditional gender roles.
Under this assignment, ABAAD is seeking, on a one-time consultancy basis, a
company or individual to turn policy briefs that were developed for the MENA
region into ones that are relevant to the Lebanese context.

Duties
and Responsibilities

-The consultant will be responsible
for contextualizing 4 policy briefs that were generalized to the MENA region to
be specific to the Lebanese context. The contextualization needs to be in line
with the Lebanese results of the IMAGES study, as well.

-The consultant will be
responsible for attending 2 round table meetings set to discuss existing briefs
for the MENA region, and to record the findings of the round tables.

-The consultant will be
responsible for taking into account, during the finalization of the policy
briefs, the findings of the round table meetings.

- The consultant will be
responsible for ensuring with the ABAAD team that the messages within the policy
briefs are in line with ABAAD’s theoretical framework and strategic advocacy
plan.

Deliverables
The
consultant will deliver the following:
-Four (4) finalized edited policy briefs adapted from the developed policy
briefs from the MENA region to the Lebanese context.

 The 4 policy
briefs need to be finalized by October 30th, 2018.

           
Skills
required

the
consultant applying to the assignment will be evaluated against the following
criteria: 

-Extensive
practical knowledge and experience on gender and women’s rights within the
Lebanese context;
-Ability to draw data from and learnings from meetings;
-Demonstrated experience and competency in conducting similar assignments;
-Experience in working with local and international organizations;
-Awareness of the requirements inherent to the work with and for NGOs and
donors, especially of donor demands and the necessity to provide them regularly
with updated briefs on the project’s progress;
- Ability to start immediately.
