Math Educator

Responsibilities and essential functions

• Plan, prepare and present lessons that cater for the needs of the children
• Participate in ongoing trainings provided by the Education Specialist and the Psychologist.
• Maintain attendance records
• Promote a positive and safe learning environment
• Teach in a manner that respects the dignity and right of all students
• Promote high expectations of students and help each student reach his/her full potential.
• Participate in weekly meeting with the education and psychosocial team to follow up on the children status and progress.
• Participate in parents’ meetings in order to make the education support more efficient.
• Make necessary and timely referrals when needed, respecting confidentiality and the beneficiary’s right
• Ensure timely reporting on activities to the Field Coordinator.
• Perform other duties as required or assigned.

Knowledge, skills and abilities

• Good organizational skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Self-motivated and initiative taker.
• Ability to communicate with vulnerable populations.
• Dynamic personality.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Fluency in written and spoken Arabic and English.

Experience

• Minimum of 1 year experience in education
• Previous experience in NGO and humanitarian field is an advantage
• Previous experience in working with children and vulnerable populations is an advantage.
