Food, Security and Livelihood Field Officer

POSITION SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES AND TASKS

Objective 1 - Technical planning, supervision and monitoring of the field activities (50%)

To actively engage in the beneficiary selection process under the guidance of Deputy Program Manager and/or FSL Program Manager

To provide support to the Deputy Program Manager for the design of the livelihoods activities

To provide support to the Deputy Program Manager and FSL Program Manager in the design of the trainings to be provided to livelihoods program participants

To conduct livelihoods activities in the field under the guidance of the Supervisor (input distribution, trainings, set up, maintenance, monitoring, reporting, etc.)

To conduct household visits, focus group discussions and key informant interviews upon the request of Deputy Program Manager and/or FSL Program Manager

Daily follow up for the cash for work activities with the civil engineer and the municipality focal point.

Monitor the conformity of the field works (trainings, field visits, meeting, etc…) with the standards of Action Against Hunger, and as per the agreed activity planned, BoQs and contracts.

Ensure the timely implementation of field works as per the predefined schedule.

Inform and document the anomalies and the challenges carried out during the implementation phase of the program.

Objective 2 - Stakeholder coordination (20%)

Field coordination with the local partners on best implementation including participants, local farmers and communities affected by the project activities.

Field coordinate with local authorities and ensuring continuous communication with beneficiaries and communities’ representatives regarding the implementation of works and in order to ensure a flawless progress of activities.

Support in building relationships between Action Against Hunger, district authorities, municipalities and communities.

Objective 3 - Data collection and reporting. (30%)

File, document and report work progress to his/her line manager on weekly basis

Regular reporting of work progress to the Deputy Program Manager and FSL Program Manager.

Report possible problem or conflict during the activities.

Report the use of materials and possible improvement.

Objective – Security

Tasks

Respect the security rules specified in the mission and base security plan, see to it that the team under his/her responsibility complies with the security plan and perform the security management tasks that can be assigned in its protocols.

Communicate to the security managers of the working location any security related information or noncompliance with the security plan

Objective - Support humanitarian activities of Action Against Hunger

Support the emergency interventions of the organization as per the employee’s abilities.

Support any activity that helps reaching our humanitarian goals, as per the employee’s abilities.

 

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

Training/ Education:

Bachelor’s degree in agronomy, food security, humanitarian action or any related field

Technical specific knowledge:

Food security and livelihoods, agriculture, waste management and CfW. Irrigation systems management and construction is a plus.

Previous experience:

1-year experience working in humanitarian action or development

Experience in livelihoods programs is a plus

Humanitarian sector knowledge:

Good team  worker, good listener, high communication skills, good animator and facilitator.

Action Against Hunger knowledge:

Mandate, Programs

Languages:

Working language in English written and speaking Arabic.

IT and specific systems:

Good command of MS Office, compulsory expertise in Excel.

Mobility (national/ international)

South Lebanon, both South and Nabatieh governatore

 

We offer immediate incorporation to a dynamic international network with the following remuneration package:

Based in: Zahle

Area: FSL

Formal work contract: 2.5 months

Salary: from 1220 USD to 1520 USD  gross per month according to candidate’s previous experience (according to standard list of Action Against Hunger - Spain). Action Against Hunger - Spain remuneration system allows a salary progression based on the annual development appraisal.

LBP 8,000 daily transportation allowance on working days
