LED Driver

Project Background

The Lebanon Enterprise Development (LED) is a project funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) with a goal to increase employment opportunities for Lebanese citizens. Due to multiple challenges, Lebanon’s private sector is lagging in creating economic opportunities and jobs. LED will identify constraints preventing businesses from increasing sales or reaching new buyers/customers and will provide customized technical assistance to enable Lebanese enterprises to expand their activities, increase sales and create jobs. Over time, LED will also prioritize selected business enabling environment problems and work with the relevant stakeholders to analyze these issues and propose the needed solutions.

Specific Duties, Responsibilities, and Accountabilities

  • Drive project vehicles daily as assigned and/or pre-approved by supervisor, including project-related transportation within Beirut, scheduled field trips to other cities or regions of Lebanon, and other driving assignments as required.
  • Clean assigned vehicles daily both inside and outside.
  • Check assigned vehicles weekly to ensure that they are operational and safe to drive, including oil, radiator, fan belt, brake fluid, wipers, tires, lights, and signals.
  • Initiate and supervise any repairs required on assigned vehicles with supervisor's approval.
  • Fulfill reporting requirements and maintain records on vehicle routing, vehicle condition, etc.
  • Ensure passenger safety by obeying traffic laws and driving carefully.
  • Expedite project requests as necessary to facilitate the running of the office.
  • Complete other tasks or assignments as requested.

Reporting

The driver will report directly to the Office Manager or their designee.

Qualifications

  • A valid driver's license is required.
  • A good driving record and understanding of auto mechanics are required.
  • A minimum of primary level schooling to ensure literacy is required.
  • Good physical health is required.

Availability for overtime work and field travel is necessary.
