MEAL/Hygiene Promotion Officer (on behalf of Tankamel Sawa)

Under the supervision of the MEAL and Hygiene Promotion Manager, the MEAL / Hygiene Promotion Officer will be responsible for:

1.    MEAL related tasks: 

• Supporting in the needs’ assessment exercises carried out by program teams (data collection methodology, quality control of data collection process, review of assessment statistics, HH baseline surveys);
• Supporting review of data collection methodology and revision of existing tools or development of new tools;
• Supporting in the development of data collection and analysis plans by program teams;
• Working on the development of a monitoring plan, indicator tracker and other monitoring tools during and after the work implementation;
• Participating in internal evaluations;
• Supporting implementation of external evaluations at field level;
• Ensuring that the minimum standards of humanitarian work are maintained in accordance with the Humanitarian Charter;
• Complying with Tankamel Sawa and arche noVa respected policies and practice with respect to child protection, code of conduct, health and safety, equal opportunities and other relevant policies and procedures;
• Reporting all tasks above.

2.    Hygiene promotion related tasks:

• Supporting in identifying and selecting the most appropriate water and hygiene messages regarding the target population;
• Preparing the necessary material needed for water and hygiene campaign/activity into schools and in the communities.
• Planning the implementation of the water and hygiene Activities into schools and communities.
• Carrying out activities/ campaigns monitoring work.
• Identifying problems and provide sustainable changes of WASH Knowledge, Attitudes and Practices to the local communities;
• Networking with the local authorities and focal points in the selected areas and schools, and agree with them on the implementation of water and hygiene activities/campaigns.
• Mobilizing the community to change behavior regarding water and hygiene practice.
• Communicating with the communities and schools the importance of water and hygiene practices.
• Ensuring the work is properly done and the material are used wisely;
• Implementing water and hygiene activities in schools and communities.
• Running focus group, giving a clear message on good hygiene practice;
• Reporting the progress of the work to the supervisor;
• Reporting possible problem or conflict during the activities;
• Reporting the use of materials and possible improvement;
• Data collection regarding the project and the potentials beneficiaries;
• Regular reporting;
• Conducting assessments;
• Supporting in other WASH related activities;
