The Psychologist will provide psychological support to students through individual counseling and/or group therapies
DUTIES
- Provide diagnostic services in the area of intelligence, personality, sensory motor, achievement, and adaptive behavior to students with suspected exceptional educational needs.
- Administer and interpret a variety of psychological tests and assessment instruments
- Provide direct individual and group counseling services to students who are experiencing academic, social, emotional or behavioral adjustment problems.
- Monitor student progress
- Monitor and effectively communicate with parents about student progress and help families understand their child's learning and mental health needs
- Demonstrate expertise in collecting, managing, and interpreting various types of individual and group data
- Promote problem solving, anger management and conflict resolution
- Reinforce positive coping skills and resilience
- Promote positive peer relationships and social problem solving
- Make referrals to special education if needed
- Identify at risk students and school vulnerabilities
- Consult and confer with teachers, staff, and families about strategies to facilitate the social and affective adjustment of students.
- Refer internally and externally as needed, respecting confidentiality and the right of the beneficiary
- Conduct psychosocial activities
- Conduct awareness sessions with beneficiaries
- Work directly with the social worker to develop intervention plans and follow up at the home level
- Address needs and requests in a professional way
- Report any incident or act that causes any harm to beneficiary or to others
- Always respect a refusal of treatment

- An evidence-based approach to psychological interventions (for example: cognitive behavior therapy)

Proficient with Microsoft Office programs
ACADEMIC EDUCATION
Master’s degree in Psychology
EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE
- 2 to 5 years of experience
- Experience in the field of psychology and vulnerability/disability
