Part Time Psychologist - Lebaa (South)

The Psychologist will provide psychological support to students through individual counseling and/or group therapies

DUTIES

  • Provide diagnostic services in the area of intelligence, personality, sensory motor, achievement, and adaptive behavior to students with suspected exceptional educational needs.
  • Administer and interpret a variety of psychological tests and assessment instruments
  • Provide direct individual and group counseling services to students who are experiencing academic, social, emotional or behavioral adjustment problems.
  • Monitor student progress
  • Monitor and effectively communicate with parents about student progress and help families understand their child's learning and mental health needs
  • Demonstrate expertise in collecting, managing, and interpreting various types of individual and group data
  • Promote problem solving, anger management and conflict resolution
  • Reinforce positive coping skills and resilience
  • Promote positive peer relationships and social problem solving
  • Make referrals to special education if needed
  • Identify at risk students and school vulnerabilities
  • Consult and confer with teachers, staff, and families about strategies to facilitate the social and affective adjustment of students.
  • Refer internally and externally as needed, respecting confidentiality and the right of the beneficiary
  • Conduct psychosocial activities
  • Conduct awareness sessions with beneficiaries
  • Work directly with the social worker to develop intervention plans and follow up at the home level
  • Address needs and requests in a professional way
  • Report any incident or act that causes any harm to beneficiary or to others
  • Always respect a refusal of treatment

  • An evidence-based approach to psychological interventions (for example: cognitive behavior therapy)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational skills

 

Computer Skills

Proficient with Microsoft Office programs

 

ACADEMIC EDUCATION

Master’s degree in Psychology

 

EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE

  • 2 to 5 years of experience
  • Experience in the field of psychology and vulnerability/disability
