DATA COLLECTOR TEAM LEADER

General job description:

The Data collection Team Leader is  responsible for the planning and implementation of a child labour situation analysis in South Lebanon and Nabattieh and follow-up of the team under the direct supervision of the Child Protection technical manager and the CL Situation analysis consultant and in close relationship with the Q&A unit. The team leader will both be in charge of  analyzing the data collected by the data collectors and himself as well collecting data. S/He should ensure that the situation analysis is non-biased, neutral and inclusive of all actors present in the Lebanese context. S/He should ensure an efficient and respectful external coordination with all stakeholders  in link with the situation analysis,  with the support of Tdh-L field team and their facilitations.

Aim of position:

Lead the data collection to carry out a situation analysis on child labor in South Lebanon and Nabattieh.

Duty Details

Management

  • Responsible to promote and ensure a trusted and professional relationship between Tdh staff and relevant authorities, humanitarian actors and community leaders within each community.
  • Responsible for the team management of the data collectors (working hours, duties, organization, planning of the work etc...)
  • Coordinates and ensures a timely, quantitative and qualitative supervision and monitoring process of all activities.
  • Responsible for the monitoring of the plan and of reporting activities to the M&E Manager  on a weekly basis
  • Transferring collected data to quantitative and qualitative report  in coordination with the consultant, the Technical unit manager and the M&E Manager as per the plan defined
  • Conducting when needed and following data entry and monitor result that serve to the assessment report.
  • Ensure that data gathered are readable and adequate to be analyzed.
  • File all data gathered by the team in a systematic way and handover the data files to the M&E Manager.
  • Raise any security concern to the Technical Unit Manager immediately.

Reporting

  • Ensures data is collected and collated in narrative reports.
  • Assists in the use of data collection systems and punctual reporting to enable measurable results to prove the achievement of assessment objectives
  • Provide reports as required and directed

Data collection

  • Data collection through key informant interviews, focus group discussions, surveys etc.
  • Ensure quality and accuracy of data collected on the field and the serious follow-up of available guidelines
  • Support in data encoding into excel or word when needed
  • Using project monitoring tools and send it to Data Entry within the dead line.
  • Report immediately on achievements or difficulties faced on the field

Neutrality and Impartiality 

  • Ensure that the situation analysis is non-biased, neutral and inclusive of all actors present in the Lebanese context.
  • Ensure an efficient and respectful external coordination with all stakeholders in link with the situation analysis.

Confidentiality and Archives

  • Ensure that all relevant information is contained within beneficiaries’ files, respecting principles of confidentiality and dignity.
  • Refer important information  to other actors in the CP/GBV network.

Organisationnel Policies

  • Respects the Tdh Child Safeguarding Policy (CSP) and its principles of child protection, ensuring the policy’s implementation and prompt notification of the CSP Focal Point with any information regarding potential breaches of the policy;
  • Is aware of, abides by and promotes the practices and values set out in all other Tdh policies and procedures such as the Internal Regulations, Standard Operating Procedures and other policies.
  • Undertake all other duties that may be requested by the line-manager and that are compatible with the Job
