Purpose/objective of the position:

. Provide individual support to children in a critical situation or victims of abuse. He/she will conduct social inquiries, offer individual solutions and refer internally all cases identified and evaluated. He/she’s the focal point for every identified abuse case.

. Responsible for the relations with parents and the wider community. Among other things, he/she will organize awareness sessions and caregivers’ meetings and provide advice on subjects linked to child protection and safety.

Responsibilities/duties:
- Under the guidance of the CP Advisor, the social worker is responsible for implementing (weekly and/or monthly plan) activities in the Child-Friendly Space at Jafra Foundation Center.
- Identifies, refers and follow up on vulnerable cases of children or of those with special needs.
- Be actively involved in all steps of activities implementation.
-Ensures a safe and child-friendly atmosphere within the Child-Friendly Space/Community Centre, making children feel comfortable, safe, and respected.
- Assists in the screening for and monitoring protection needs and gaps in and around the Child-Friendly Space.
-Facilitates the participation of all children in forming the basis of activities held at the assigned center, notably the most vulnerable ones ensuring that proper attention is paid to specific emotional and physical needs.
-Liaises with local stakeholders, service providers, and other community services centers for strengthening joint planning and synergies for community participation around the protection and well-being of all children, including highly vulnerable children. This includes referral to structures providing medical, paramedical and legal services.
-Participate in conducting surveys
-Participate in any meeting, training, and workshop relevant to his/her duty.
-Perform other relevant duties as requested by the supervisor.

QUALIFICATION/ REQUIREMENTS

Profile required:

• At least a Bachelor degree/diploma in social studies or any other related field
• At least 1 year of practical experience in child protection services, social work etc.
• Fluent Arabic is a must; English is a strong asset
