Project Field Officer

Background

The Lebanon Reforestation Initiative (LRI) is a Lebanese NGO registered at the Ministry of Interior and Municipalities under no. 1186 on 18 June 2014. LRI is managing several projects among which a project funded by the World Food Programme (WFP) and a project funded by UNDP, both aiming at improving livelihoods in vulnerable communities through the implementation of reforestation and forest management activities.

The project is operated by LRI’s offices in Hazmieh, with support from LRI field team in Beqaa and North.

Purpose of the position

LRI is seeking 2 full-time Field Officers for the North region for the period of 4 months from December 1st, 20178 till March 31, 2019. The Field Officers will be based in the North region to help the project team ensure smooth work progress and compliance with WFP and UNDP requirements.The Field Officer is expected to perform the following duties:

• Conduct daily monitoring visits to the North sites;
• Report daily on the work progress;
• Daily check on the participants, make sure that all participants are present on site;
• Take daily pictures of the sites before and after the work implementation;
• Daily scanning of the attendance booklets;
• Assist in payment disbursement to workers;
• Support in any project-related activities on site or in the office.

Expected DeliverablesSpecific deliverables include but are not limited to:

• Daily reports on work progress;
• Daily scanned attendance booklets;
• Daily pictures of the sites.

Requirements The Field Officer should possess the following competencies, skills, and experience:

• Good academic and proven practical knowledge in the field of community mobilization, coordination of community activities, social work, forestry or any related field;
• At least 2-3 years of relevant experience working with rural communities;
• Strong analytical, communication and inter-personal skills;
• Excellent reporting skills;
• Willingness to travel daily to the project sites in Dunnieh, Akkar and North Beqaa;
• Fluency in both written and spoken English and Arabic.
