Project’s context:
Composed of seven International organizations in Syria region, including four in Lebanon, the YOUTH RESOLVE YOUTH RESOLVE aims to strengthen youth resilience and empower youth as leading actors in post-conflict reconstruction in Lebanon, Jordan, Iraq and Turkey.
In Lebanon, Islamic Relief Lebanon is working in four different aspects (Cash/Food for Work, Psychosocial Support, Active Learning, Social Stability and Rehabilitation of CBC) in Saida City – South Lebanon.
Overall Responsibility
Supervisor will be responsible for assisting and providing supports to YOUTH RESOLVE consortium project in the implementation of activities and events.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Assessing beneficiaries needs.
- Supervising all ongoing activities at IRL’s community-based center.
- Supervise and follow up with staff, trainers, animators and volunteers working at the community-based center on daily bases
- Provide technical guidance, on the job coaching and mentoring to the PSS team on the principles of psychosocial support and learning and development principles for children and adults
- Establishing suitable weekly actions plan and reports and support the activators to develop a weekly, monthly and yearly workplan thus update it regularly and follow-up on its implementation
- Hold weekly team meetings to discuss challenges and successes faced in implementation and share coordination meeting minutes and staff meeting minutes with the project coordinator
- Ensure that consent is taken from caregivers and children for the activities
- Monitor the progress of project targets against indicators on a weekly basis using the appropriate documents
- Maintain positive relations with local implementing actors, local authorities and other international and local stakeholders through coordination
- Liaise with local partners and community leaders to identify vulnerable individuals in areas of intervention mainly for events and open days
- Maintain and monitor the data entry for the project activities
- Coordinate with the admin, finance and the logistics departments to ensure that the needed means and tools are available for the running of the project
- Maintaining contact with MADAD Project Coordinator.
- Respecting and applying Islamic Relief policies and procedures
- Adhere to IRL Child Protection Policy and committed to “do no harm”.
- Willingness to dedicate 100% of his/her working hours to the YOUTH RESOLVE consortium and providing accurate time-sheet and performance report to MADAD Project Coordinator on weekly and monthly bases as per donor requirements.
Person Specification
Experience / Education/Skills- Essential
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology Child Development or other related field
- Minimum 2-3 years of relative experience, preferred with international NGOs.
- knowledge of psychosocial support basic principles and PSS key messages to vulnerable children and caregivers
- Strong communication, interpersonal & technical skills.
Ability To
- Work independently with minimal supervision.
- Read, comprehend and interpret written materials of moderate to complex difficulty.
- Records management systems (both automated and paper files) to ensure accurate maintenance of files and ease of retrieval.
- Word-processing, spreadsheet and database software programs related to job functions.
- Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
Language
- Fluency in English & Arabic (written and spoken).
