Community Mobilizer (Hygiene Promotion and Environment)

JOB DESCRIPTION:

CISP is active in South Lebanon implementing projects funded by different Donors and targeting both Syrian Refugees and hosting communities in the Governorates of South Lebanon and Nabatiyeh.

Sectors of activity: Shelter, WASH (including infrastructures for water), Basic Assistance (Core Relief Items) and others.

CISP is opening a selection for two Community Mobilizers to be in charge of hygiene promotion and awareness on environmental issues in the target area. The target population is the Syrian Refugees and asylum seekers living in Collective Shelters and in Informal Settlements, and the local Lebanese hosting communities.

The candidates will be evaluated according to CISP evaluation grid and will be ranked according to scoring assigned during the process.

Under the coordination and monitoring of the Project Coordinator(s) competent for the different projects, and in coordination with CISP Field team, the Community Mobilizers will be in charge of:

• Implementation of  baseline studies to depict the situation in the target areas, with focus on hygiene, community health and environment;
• Elaboration of detailed strategy to address needs detected with the above mentioned studies;
• Organization of meetings with beneficiaries (group meetings) to share information on correct hygiene practices;
• Organization of campaigns to raise awarness on community health hazards and on environement, with special focus of correct management of solid waste;
• Support to the Field Team in terms of contribution to any kind of assessment, on follow up of project activities, and implication in the implementation of any other activity;
• Sistematic record of work plans, achievements, events, with compilation of attendance sheets for the events organized and their correct filing;
• Reporting to the Area Manager and Project Coordinator(s).

Confidentiality: the position gives access to personal information of beneficiaries that must be treated carefully and that cannot be shared with subjects with whom CISP did not sign a Data Sharing Agreement;

Base office: Tyre with trips to CISP Offices in Lebanon if deemed necessary by the Management.

THE CANDIDATE’S REQUIREMENTS:

Essential:

• University Degree in Social Sciences or Public Health;
• At least two years of experience in similar position;
• Very good communication skills and ability to organize group discussion and community events;
• Good computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office package;
• Good capacity in organizing information efficiently and synthetically;
• Willingness and ability to be flexible
• Excellent inter personnel skills and team spirit: the position requires to interact with staff specialized in different sectors and being supportive in finding viable solutions to the management of the information;
• Valid driving license.

Desirable:

• Work experience with international NGOs
• Leadership
• Knowledge of the online information systems;
• Capacity to develop information material to be handed over during meetings or awareness campaigns.
