Field Officer

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Set up the project office at field level in accordance with the project work plan.
  • Identification of target group, plan adequate field activities and update tools related to the needs.
  • Ensure regular technical follow up visit to assess, identify and monitor the field activities.
  • Under the responsibility of the line manager, take part in logistical and administrative preparation of validations, HHVs and distributions.
  • Organize and plan the distribution of Non-Food items “NFI’s” and Core Relief items “CRI’s” in case of emergency situation valid by the rapid need assessment focal point.  
  • Provide the multi-purpose cash for beneficiaries to optimize the use of assistant valid by the rapid need assessment focal point. 
  • Launch the rapid need assessment after the alert of any emergency situation by the line manager.   
  • Update tools and activities depending on the change of needs.
  • Engage in internal and external referral.
  • Ensure that the implementation of field work plan is consistent with the envisaged outputs and objectives of the project document.
  • Maintain close coordination with field workers.
  • Ensure a coordinated and collaborative approach is undertaken among project partners at field-level /in implementing project interventions and achieving desired outcomes.
  • Assist in conducting various distribution and validation exercises.
  • Assist in ensuring field-based project staff receive relevant skills training and knowledge development required for effective and efficient project administration and implementation.
  • Update and report the Line Manager on a regular basis about the progress and constraints and try to resolve implementation problems.
  • Act as a field level representative, as called upon by the Line Manager during review meetings, evaluation and discussions.
  • Supervise the activities of field-based staff and consultants, including administrative work and delivery of sector outputs.
  • Maintain close coordination/linkages with targeted District line agencies, local bodies,  I/NGOs and projects within the project area and keep them fully informed of the project activities.
  • Coach and mentor Project Field staff for smooth project implementation.
  • Establish, coordinate and integrate databases.
