Communications Coordinator

Job Purpose

Engage in creating and promoting public images for ARM’s and MCC’s mission, vision and values.

 

Areas of Contribution & Related Accountabilities

Social Media Involvement:

The jobholder responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Develop, execute and evaluate a comprehensive media strategy in line with the work of ARM and MCC, and implement this strategy in coordination with the Programs Director.
  • Formulate and manage media policies and activities to promote ARM and MCC.
  • Plan and implement a content editorial calendar to manage content and plan specific, timely marketing campaigns, in close coordination with the Designer.
  • Promote content through social advertising.
  • Allocate budgets to different promotions and social media advertisements.
  • Actively manage social media accounts, reply to comments / forward where applicable, interact with audiences in a responsive and professional manner.
  • Track and analyze analytics reports to gain insight on traffic, demographics, and effectiveness; utilize this information to create comprehensive reports and improve future communication strategies and campaigns.
  • Ensures consistency in social media messages.
  • Coordinate with MCC Operations Manager to ensure that all activities and emerging needs are properly documented and subsequently publish them online.
  • Assist in the maintenance and improvement of the ARM website.
  • Create and post content on the website on a regular basis.
  • Design or adapt simple graphics to be posted online.
  • Assist in preparing infographics to be shared online.
  • Optimize digital assets for search engine optimization (SEO) or for display and usability on internet-connected devices.
  • Coordinate with developers to optimize website architecture, server configuration, or page construction for search engine consumption and optimal visibility.
  • Draft, design, and send quarterly newsletters in coordination with Programs Director and MCC Operations Manager.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of ARM's online funding strategies and activities.
  • Report progress to Programs Director on a weekly basis.

 

Traditional Media Involvement:

The jobholder responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Draft, translate, and disseminate press releases, prepare information for media kits.
  • Draft and translate position statements on current issues in coordination with ARM management.
  • Prepare or edit organizational publications for internal or external audiences.
  • Develop and maintain relationships and partnerships with relevant local, regional and international media.
  • Propose ideas and create opportunities for ARM and MCC to be featured in traditional media.\
  • Represent ARM and MCC to the media and at specific meetings and events when required.
  • Train and prepare staff (and occasionally MCC members) for media interviews and appearances.

 

Communications & Work Relationships:

Internal Communication:

  • Regular contact with the Programs Director
  • Regular contact with the Programs Officer
  • Regular contact with the MCC Operations Manager
  • Occasional contact with the Executive Director and Center Coordinators

External Communication:

  • Regular contact with Web Developer
  • Regular contact with Designer
  • Regular contact with media representatives

 

Framework, Boundaries, and Decision Making Authority:

The jobholder suggests plans of action to the Programs Director for final decision-making, and takes necessary actions.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • University Degree in Marketing, Journalism, Media, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field.
  • Excellent command of online and social media tools.
  • Knowledge and understanding of NGOs, nonprofit organizations and human rights issues.
  • Some knowledge and understanding of migration issues and the situation of migrant workers in Lebanon is a plus.
  • Experience required: 2 to 4 years.
  • Excellent command of English & Arabic
