Assessment Supervisor

POSITION GENERAL OBJECTIVE 

The Assessment Supervisor is in charge of conducting an assessment informing a new project, in coordination with the FSL and WASH teams and under the supervision of the Food Security and Livelihoods Coordinator.

 

POSITION SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES AND TASKS. 

Objective 1: Supervise Assessment Field Officers (30%) 

Plan and supervise the activities of the Assessment Field Officers together with the Head of Bases and the FSL Coordinator 

Schedule team meetings when necessary, involving FSL, WASH and MEAL 

Follow up on daily reports of Assessment Field Officers

Objective 2: Conduct assessments on community/village vulnerabilities (40%)

Train and supervise officers in conducting focus group discussions with communities to understand the community/village level needs, the gaps and opportunities for AAH work  

Conduct key informants interviews with communities’ leaders, local authorities, LNGOs and INGOs, to understand the needs of the areas and possible AAH’s intervention   

Objective 3: Assess possible new activities (30%) 

Conduct market assessments including price monitoring and market mapping 

Visit suggested activities intervention sites and assess the feasibility of AAH intervention, in light of the project objectives and AAH’s standards  

Draw for each identify activity a process, timeline of work, number of beneficiaries and approximate bill of quantities and budget

Objective 4: Reporting on assessment and enhance decision making (30%)        

Write regular reports, according to templates shared

Report the progress of the work to the FSL Coordinator and Head of Bases 

Report weekly activity

Objective 5: Security 

Respect the security rules specified in the mission and base security plan, see to it that the team under his/her responsibility complies with the security plan and perform the security management tasks that can be assigned in its protocols. 

Communicate to the security managers of the working location any security related information or noncompliance with the security plan

Objective 6: Support humanitarian activities of Action Against Hunger

Support the emergency interventions of the organization as per the employee’s abilities.

Support any activity that helps reaching our humanitarian goals, as per the employee’s abilities.

 

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

Training/ Education: Bachelor Degree Field of education: Bachelors in humanitarian action /social work/ or social studies

Technical specific knowledge: Livelihoods and WASH, Team Management

Previous experience: At least 3 years experience in humanitarian action.

Humanitarian sector knowledge: Good team worker, good planner, high communication skills, has good analytical skills of the humanitarian context

Action Against the Hunger knowledge: Mandate, Programs

Languages: Working language in English written and speaking.

Arabic

IT and specific systems: Good command of MS Office, compulsory expertise in Excel.

Mobility (national/ international): Bekaa and South regions in Lebanon

 

REMUNERATION PACKAGE

We offer immediate incorporation to a dynamic international network with the following remuneration package:

Based in: Roving (Beirut, Zahle and Tyre)

Area: FSL

Formal work contract: 1 months

Salary: from 1453 USD to 1720 USD  gross per month according to candidate’s previous experience (according to standard list of Action Against Hunger - Spain). Action Against Hunger - Spain remuneration system allows a salary progression based on the annual development appraisal.

LBP 8,000 daily transportation allowance on working days

Social security registration and NSSF family allowance if eligible

Life insurance (after 3 months of contract)

1.5 days of paid holidays per month

Approx. 18 days per year of public holidays
