Social Worker

Major Responsibilities:

• Profiling children into different categories.
• Organizes regular awareness and information sessions in classrooms.
• Identifies cases of abuse towards students (verbal or physical) and takes necessary precautions to prevent them from happening again.
• Identifies and refers students with special needs to specialized NGOs.
• Provides necessary specialized technical support to Field Officers.
• Attends weekly meetings with the Project Manager, to share lessons learned and exchange experiences.
• Ensures proper documentation of data collected (hard and soft copies).
• Writes weekly reports, and refers specific cases.
• Conducts case studies on selected cases.
• Shares information on field-level successes and challenges with the target students.
• Any other duties relating to the nature of the job as directed by the Project Manager.

Job Requirements:

Academic Qualification

• Bachelor Degree in Sociology, Children Psychology, Education or any other related field.

Professional Experience

• At least 2 years’ experience in a similar position.
• Experience in working with children under the age of 15.
• Experience in report writing.

Skills

• Spoken and written fluency in English and Arabic. (French is a plus)
• Good writing skills.
• Highly organized.
• Capacity to work in team and flexibility to take on new tasks.
• Tolerant and capable of handling complex social and humanitarian situations.
• Excellent interpersonal and networking skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Dynamic leader with creative problem solving skills, particularly in challenging situations.
• Strong oral and written communications skills.

Others

• Able to establish and maintain effective working relations with people of different cultural backgrounds.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to-detail.
• Knowledge of contextual diversity of various areas of Tripoli, Lebanon.
