Job Overview / Summary:
The Early Childhood Development (ECD) Assistant will be responsible for field-based management and monitoring of all service delivery and prototyping at the designated ECD prototyping and implementation locations in Akkar, and will work closely under the supervision of the Senior Early Childhood Development Officer, and with the rest of the ECD team.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support the senior early childhood development officer in program implementation through the different assigned platforms
- Follow up on children attendance in the integrated early childhood development program and understand reason for not attending where applicable
- Follow up with parents regarding attendance of children when necessary and where applicable
- Deliver community awareness sessions on the importance of ECD as directed by the Senior ECD Officer
- Ensure all children, volunteers, and facilitators have adequate materials for the all period of the program
- As directed by the senior ECD officer, support the distribution of the necessary materials
- Verify facilitators’ attendance and timesheets accuracy
- Verify home visiting volunteers’ attendance and timesheets accuracy
- Support M&E team in data collection and data entry with relevant tools, as needed
- Support in prototyping and delivering learn-through-play ECD content where applicable
- Recommend ECD measures to maintain the most appropriate child safe healing and learning space environment
- Strengthen relations with the refugees’ community, hosting community stakeholders, and other community groups, and seek their support to the IECD program
- Support in delivering parenting training sessions in communities as needed
- Perform any other related duties as may be required

Position Reports to: Senior Early Childhood Development Officer
Position directly supervises: Reach Up and Learn home visiting volunteers and facilitator(s)
Indirect Reporting: Early Childhood Development Manager
Other Internal and/or external contacts:
Internal: ERD/Child Protection/WPE/SHLS center coordinator/LC center coordinator/WPE center coordinator/ECD team/
External: other NGOs/INGOs/local governance/ECD stakeholders
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- University degree in social science, development, pedagogy, education, or any relevant related field
- Minimum of 1 year working experience in the field of development
- Experience in working with communities
- Working experience in an NGO is a plus
- Fluency in written and spoken Arabic and English is mandatory
Travel and other requirements: The position will be based in IRC Office in Akkar, with frequent travel required between relevant locations in Akkar.
