Clinic Based Nurse - Baalback

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSBILITIES:

The nurse will provide all nursing services in the clinic as per professional standards. The nurse will be able to ensure that all services are provided at high quality to the beneficiaries without any discrimination to decrease waiting time and tension between people.

Place in the Organization

The incumbent reports to the clinic director and the Health Officer in his/her sub Area.

Functions and responsibilities

1. Comply with the professional established policies, procedures and practices standards for Nurses and in accordance with the PHC facility administration
2. Adheres to all of IMC’s personnel and behavior policies including confidentiality and non-discrimination.
3. Assess beneficiary situation through triage
4. Develop and maintain patient records and enter data in their files
5. Organize and keep complete basic health information and health files
6. Review and document test results and follow up with doctors and clients
7. Conduct early screening for diagnosis of Non- communicable diseases
8. Prepare monthly statistics for the Ministry of Health and the Health Information System Department
9. Ensure the availability of all supplies and equipment for the PHC clinic
10. Prevent contamination through cleaning material and sterilization of the medical equipment at the center
11. Prevent and combat the spread of infection in the health Center and apply all measures for disinfection and sterilization
12. Assist in capacity-building efforts for clinical staff and health education teams, including quality improvement initiatives, training and monitoring.
13. Participate in IMC’s efforts to monitor and evaluate the quality of its services
14. Complete tracking forms, patient information and aggregate monthly data as requested
15. Assist the Monitoring & Evaluation team in data verification and/or audits

16. Conduct all nursing tasks related to child health care including vaccination, follow up of vaccination defaulters, growth monitoring, malnutrition follows up and related tasks
17. Ensure ANC services, including examination, investigation, medication and counseling, are provided to pregnant women through the antenatal period according to WHO standards
18. Follow-up on ANC and PNC defaulters
19. Facilitate patients seeking care to ensure compassionate experience
20. Provide counseling on family planning and birth spacing services and encourage use
21. Provide health education on various health topics and case specific inside the center as needed focusing on immunization, IYCF, reproductive health and others.
22. Assist doctors at the Primary Health Care Center as needed
23. Participate in follow up on school health for students within the scope of the Center’s work
24. Perform any additional tasks as requested by the clinic director
