Kitchen Chef ( Al Makassed )

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensure safety and sanitation practices in the kitchen;
  • Vast knowledge of International and Lebanese cuisines;
  • Creativity: Knowledge of ingredients and how to use them in a creative way;
  • Monitors inventory and report items that need to be reordered;
  • Manages kitchen staff and delegates tasks related to meal preparation, cooking and delivering food to diners in a timely manner;
  • Prepares food menu and suggests new recipes;
  • Applies neat and creative presentation for food display;
  • Estimates expected food consumption and organizes preparation;
  • Keeps records and accounts of food purchases;
  • Prices food items and set budgets for events in collaboration with the responsible supervisor;
  • Orders food supplies and kitchen equipment, as needed;
  • Stores food products in compliance with safety practices;
  • Handles cooking and baking trainings for needed participants.
  • Implements training sessions with community women
