MAIN OBJECTIVE OF POSITION
Main purpose:
Supervising a group of skilled workers/hospital cleaners, ensuring proper planning and administrative follow up, monitoring the quality of the work and performing hands on tasks as part of the team, according to MSF protocols, standards and procedures in order to ensure smooth functioning of the mission.
Accountabilities:
- Supervising the team under his/her responsibility and participating in the associated HR processes training/induction, evaluation, potential detection, coaching, development and communication).
- To lead the hygiene agents team and to ensure environment are maintained to a high standard, through the effective utilization of resources, forward planning and continuous improvement.
- In collaboration with Nursing Director/ Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) Manager, and head of departments maintaining and supporting the day to day implementation of the standard precautions in the hospital departments and providing technical supervision, training and support to the Hygiene agents on execution of duties, according to standard precautions, housekeeping, cleaning and tiding up activities in order to ensure all hospital departments, units and office areas are kept clean and tidy according to IPC standards of MSF.
- Supervises the daily duty allocation of the hospital cleaners and checking of the cleanliness of the department.
- Supervises, promotes and implements IPC standard precautions including Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), hand hygiene, waste management, cleaning and disinfection of surface and environment, and individual hygiene
- Supervises promotes and implements the correct use of antiseptics, disinfectants and detergents, in collaboration with IPC manager.
- Weekly/regular checking of the consumption and the quality of materials and equipment, including cleaning materials and equipment, PPE, etc.
- Responsible for the requisitions and replenishment of consumables, pharmacy order and inventory of supplies and equipment and also maintenance and care of equipment, in collaboration with supply and pharmacy departments.
- Responsible for staff coverage by making monthly roster schedule and that the hospital is adequately covered and also enhancing the morale of the staff.
- To conduct meeting with the team, and provide guidance, and teaching to improve skills.
- Reporting any irregularities to Nursing Director. Asses the level of performance of all staff in the unit and submits reports as appropriate.
- Shows flexibility to perform any other duties as assigned.

Education
- Literacy. Basic education
Experience
- Minimum two years of experience as a skilled worker/hospital cleaners in this field

- Arabic is essential, English Desirable
