Field Officer – Bekaa

The Field Officer will perform his/her duties and responsibilities in accordance to project proposal, administrative and financial policies/ regulations of the Near East Foundation. In consultation with the NEF Project Coordinator in Lebanon and in collaboration with the project staff including local partner organizations (arcenciel), she/he will develop action plans and monitor project implementation at field level. He/she establishes and maintains effective working relationships with local partner organizations & other stakeholders in the field.

The project aims to reduce household economic vulnerability and reliance on harmful coping strategies of Syrian refugee and vulnerable Lebanese families by increasing access to livelihoods and protection information and skills; and supporting the creation of home-based income-generating activities.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Supervise, monitor and evaluate activities of the program and the field work.
  • Support quality implementation of the activities through regular field visits.
  • In coordination with head office, contribute to establishing and implementing the operational work plans by mapping monthly & weekly activities, assigning tasks to staff and setting clear targets.
  • Provide follow up and support/guidance to the field teams (5 volunteers).
  • Provide information and advice for the team, beneficiaries and walk-ins on existing services.
  • Collaborate with partners and other agencies when required.
  • Plan, coordinate and facilitate in distribution of materials when needed.
  • Maintain records, report problems or concerns to head office and partners.
  • Contribute in ongoing field assessments and data collection and entry as/when required.
  • Enter data & ensure the data is accurately collected, entered, and shared on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
  • Submit weekly reports.
  • Any other duties relating to the nature of the job as requested by the supervisor.

 

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • 3 years experience working in an NGO on project implementation and management
  • Experience in planning and coordinating trainings is a plus
  • Ability to liaise effectively with head office, partners, and other stakeholders
  • Strong teamwork skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong understanding of the entire project cycle management
  • Excellent organizational skills & detail oriented
  • Ability to work under stress
  • Ability to work independently
  • Computer Skills including Microsoft office (word doc, excel, ppt)
  • Software applications required for daily operations
  • Excellent Arabic & English
