- Define, implement and update the external activity strategy and related activities based on the context analysis and budget plan (objectives, target population, campaigns, messages, activities, specific actions, etc.).
- Together with the hospital director, identify the health needs of the target population and participating in the definition, planning and updating of the appropriate strategy of MSF external health activities.
- To be in charge with the CHE in identifying the places for the blood drives & To be the focal point with the responsible of the blood drive at the Lebanese Red Cross.
- Organize and schedule with the CHE for the calendar for all the blood campaigns needed to support the Thalassemia program.
- Participate in monthly reports according to guidelines (SitRep, statistical report, etc.)& and report to the medical team any information linked to the health situation of the population and the patient.
- Report about any suspicious epidemiological outbreaks (measles, etc..) shared by other actors at meetings or at the community level.
- Participate in the definition and update of the HP strategy and identifying indicators in order to monitor HP activities, results, and achievements.
- Assess, develop and adapt health promotion materials to the needs of the project. Ensure content and format. Determine key messages for current MSF activities,
- Implement the HP strategy inside and outside the medical structures in order to reinforce the link between the communities and the project.
- Organize, train, and supervise the social worker and CHE in terms of planning and organizing their work, supporting, evaluating, collecting reports of the activities of each SW and CHE and visit together the communities that are under his/her responsibility
- Analyze the context (local culture, traditions, habits and health perception) to adapt health activities and support the social mapping (shelters, actors…),
- Ensure regular collaboration and coordination with the rest of the MSF medical team, to guarantee that the HP supervisor is part of the medical activities of the project.
- Make a clear link between the community and MSF facilities/services, and a referral system with other actors using a comprehensive and regularly updated mapping of actors.
- Identifying key actors (local authorities, local NGOs, traditional healers, formal or informal authorities) and being the focal point for the networking in order to support the dissemination of health information of the target population, and be the point of reference for the relation and networking with these subjects.
- Represent MSF towards other Actors and the Community during MSF external activities.
- Liaise with other relevant actors (national and International NGO’s)analyzing interventions and building cooperative relationships, in order to improve awareness among the targeted population.
- Guarantee a functional link between MSF and other health facilities (PHCCs etc.) run by MoH, MOSA or other non-governmental organization, including other MSF sections.
