Responsibilities & Duties:
Under the direct supervision of the Finance and Admin Manager, the Accountant will undertake the following:
- Prepare and reviews accounting entries into accounting system, ensure that transactions are complete and accurate.
- Prepare the weekly payments. Ensure there is proper supporting documentation for all payments and other accounting entries.
- Keep track on all Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable balances.
- Assist in the month closure on a monthly basis
- Prepare monthly petty cash and bank reconciliations,
- Assist in the preparation of monthly and quarterly VAT, Income Tax and NSSF reporting as well as the yearly tax declaration to the Ministry of Finance.
- Assist in Audit schedule preparation: both internal and external
- Assist in the preparation of monthly financial reports or any donor financial reconciliation and financial reporting in line with the project ‘s budget.
- Ensure that all documentation is listed physically and electronically and kept up to date.
- Prepare the monthly payroll.
Perform any other relevant tasks as requested by the Finance and Admin Manager.
Professional Qualifications and Competencies:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting.
- A minimum 3 to 4 years of experience preferably working in the NGO sector.
- Solid experience in financial reporting.
- Excellent command of English and Arabic languages.
- Expertise in MS. Office and accounting software.
