Project Engineer ( 2 Positions )

Overall Responsibility

The senior engineer will be consulted by country director/program manager for the implementation, managing and controlling the process of the project.

The project will include but not limited to:

1. Removing all the existing electrical wires and water pipes connected to the residential premises of the selected zones in Burj Al-Barajneh.
2. Replacing the old electrical hubs by new main ones.
3. Installing new sub-hubs in specific locations.
4. Installing new wall brackets to lift and support the new installation of the electrical / water cabling and piping.
5. Installing all existing cables such as Internet, satellite and the wires of the commercial private generators to the new 4 stands brackets
6. Insure the safety and reliability of the new installation.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

1. Analyze the maps, drawings, and other data of the systems needed.
2. Inspect the project site to monitor it and ensure conformance to design specifications, safety, security and Lebanese Electrical standards.
3. Daily visits to the site assessing the quality and quantity of the work done by the contractors (very good knowledge of materials, specification and prices).
4. Delivering weekly and monthly technical and financial reports submitted to country director/program manager.
5. Managing, directing and monitoring progress during each phase of a project.
6. Dealing with contractors/ workers/ sub- contractors/ owner/ other stakeholders.
7. Report back on logistics requirements, and fill out procurement forms when necessary.
8. Ensure and promote efficient and cost effective use of IR’s assets and resources in order to maximize funding to beneficiaries.
9. Coordinate with IRL staff and key stakeholders regarding services in all its aspects.
10. Ensure that all Services- related data (e.g, activity monitoring) is well managed and provides an accurate representation of the reality on the ground.
11. Responsible of submitting a full narrative and financial report after the closure of the work.

Experience / Education/Skills- Essential    

• A bachelor degree from an accredited University with major course Electrical Engineering or Related Field.
• Minimum 5 years of relative experience, preferred with international NGOs.
• Strong communication, interpersonal & technical skills.
• Proven ability to work independently and as a team member.
• Ability to take initiatives when required.
• Ability to multi-task effectively as well as display professionalism and confidence.

Ability To

• Work independently with minimal supervision.
• Read, comprehend and interpret written materials of moderate to complex difficulty.
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with all stakeholders in the course of assignment.
• Word-processing, spreadsheet and database software programs related to job functions.
• Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.

Language                                                                            

• Fluency in English & Arabic (written and spoken).

IT skills                                                                                

• V. Good computer skills.
•  Proficiency in MS office and the ability to use software necessary for project management and reporting.
