Humanity & Inclusion (HI) is an independent and impartial international aid organization working in situations of poverty and exclusion, conflict and disaster. Working alongside persons with disabilities and other vulnerable groups, our action and testimony are focused on responding to their essential needs, improving their living conditions and promoting respect for their dignity and their fundamental rights.

MISSION CONTEXT

The actual intervention context is characterized by remote management modalities of intervention, through Partners. Bring constant support and guidance to the teams and maintain technical quality in the frame of HI integrated approach is the main challenge to take up.

 

OBJECTIVES

Under the responsibility of the Livelihood Project Manager, the Livelihood Officer is responsible for supporting the effective management and successful implementation of livelihoods activities with local partners. The Livelihood Officer is responsible for assisting in all programmatic coordination with local partners as well as internally within the HI mission, supporting project follow-up and ensuring that all relevant evidence and documentation related to project activities is delivered in a systematic and timely manner.

 

The livelihood Officer must keep all the data confidential, and share it only with the designated persons.

 

ACCOUNTABILITIES

Line manager: Livelihood Project Manager

Line manager+1: Area Coordinator

In coordination with: Coordination team and Technical Unit based in Amman

 

REPONSIBILITIES:

 

  1. Project Support
    • Support the Livelihoods PM to ensure that project activities progress as per the action plan agreed with partners and highlight any significant deviance.

    • Review the narrative and financial reports jointly to check that activities reported match up and are in line with the project plan and other project documentation.

    •  Ensure that all project tools and relevant documentation are accurately completed by the partner and shared with the PM and TC in a timely manner.

    • Support beneficiaries’ identification and selection processes together with the partners.

    • Regularly monitor project activities and provide timely inputs and feedback to Livelihood PM.

    • Support analysis of monitoring data in collaboration with the MEAL/IM Manager.

    • Compile and submit regular project updates to feed the monthly and quarterly review.

    • Preparation of all documents and forms necessary for the implementation of the livelihoods project.
       

  2. Partnership Support
    • Support the identification and capacity assessment of new partners for livelihoods programming.
    • Facilitation of (or assist in the facilitation of) trainings for partner staff and volunteers on HI technical tools, standards and methodologies.
    • Support the planning and follow-up of relevant capacity building initiatives with partners in collaboration with the Projects Support Officer.
    • Upon request, prepare and organize meetings and workshops with the partners.
       
  3. Coordination - Internal and External
    • Participate actively in program meetings (weekly meeting, bi weekly operational meeting).
    • Maintain coordination and appropriate information sharing and communication lines with partners and stakeholders at field level to avoid duplication and maximize synergies.
    • Ensure good coordination and information sharing internally with support services including logistics and finance to support the PM in ensuring that all the required processes are followed, respective documentation is collected and quality standards are maintained.
    • Support the PM in maintaining good communication and information sharing and responding to requests both within the Beirut hub and with the coordination office in Amman.
    • Support the PM in preparing situation reports, donor reports, updates to the hub or coordination team, proposals or any other documentation as needed.
    • Respond to any other requests for support by the PM.

REQUIREMENTS

Education and Experience:

  • University degree in Rural Development, Economics, Business or related studies
  • Minimum 2 years of professional experience working in the field of local development, community mobilization, and/or awareness raising
  • Experience working on inclusion of persons with disabilities preferred
  • Experience of working remotely with partners preferred

Professional and Personal Skills:

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and administrative skills
  • Very good attention to detail
  • Strong coordination skills, collaborative and participatory approach
  • Excellent team worker; ability to create dynamic and very positive working relations including at distance, with high level of mutual confidence and solidarity
  • Positive and constructive personality, very composed, patient, solution-oriented and with a high level of professional maturity
  • Ability to travel in the country and in the region

Computer Skills:

  • Strong computer skills (use of MS Word, Excel, Outlook and other relevant software);

Language:

  • Fluency in oral and written English is compulsory;
  • Fluency in oral and written Arabic is compulsory;
  • French would be an asset;

JOB CONDITIONS

  • Remuneration: according to HI salary grid
  • Starting date: 01 June 2019
  • Duration/ Type of contract: 6 months renewable based on a project timeline
  • Others: Health insurance
